My family used to do a road trip every year to Tampa, and my friend and I live in Jacksonville, FL so the drive was around three hours.
It was nice seeing a unusual city.
My friend and I would stay at a swanky hotel, eat some nice food, plus see a professional hockey game. My friend and I did it every year for Christmas. It was pretty fun since my buddy and I all were hockey fans, and then almost everyone got married plus had kids, however suddenly driving three hours to Tampa to see a game is not possible. I kind of thought our afternoons in Tampa were over. Then my sister started researching plus found that Tampa offers all sorts of kid friendly attractions. There are Busch Gardens, the Tampa Zoo, the FL Aquarium, plus Adventure Island. Suddenly the trip to Tampa for Christmas was happening again. The hotel my buddy and I stay in is kid friendly. There is a pool, tons of other kids, plus it is a mess. My friend and I don’t eat at fantastic restaurants or get drunk anymore. It is all local food that is cheap, easy, plus hopefully healthy, and no more hockey games however amusement plus water parks; Animals, fish, plus parks are all great. It is a lot of work plus effort to make Tampa happen every year. I still savor the trip. Instead of coming condo relaxed I do come condo feeling like I need a trip. I am glad that the kids savor our FL road trip every year though. It makes the holidays a little more special. Tampa offers quite a bit for a diverse crowd.
