Making improvements to comfort

My husband and I both grew up and went to university in the south, my pal and I were actually accustomed to rapidly changing temperatures soaring into the nineties and running the a/c just about year round. Moving to Elgin, Illinois, a few years ago was a giant transition. My pal and I had never seen snow before! The motion pictures make the winter weather apapple almost magical, and in reality, it’s a good deal of labor and expense. My husband and I needed to invest in heavy boots, hats, gloves, jackets, snow shovels and ice scrapers! Our first winter in Elgin was especially difficult, then no matter how my buddy and I bundled up and no matter how high my buddy and I set the control unit, my buddy and I were constantly cold, and stepping outside to shovel snow or scrape ice off the windshield of the car was torture. I decided that if my buddy and I were going to stay in Elgin, my buddy and I needed to make some improvements. I did some research online and contacted a local Heating as well as A/C supplier. I made a list of ways to tighten up the home, elevate comfort and reduce energy bills. Some of the jobs were minor and infancy while others were a considerable investment and required professional service. On our own, my husband and I managed to install a fresh layer of insulation in the attic. My pal and I weatherstripped doors, caulked around windows and filled in any cracks that my buddy and I found. My pal and I hired Heating as well as A/C specialists to handle HVAC duct sealing, furnace repair and a control component update. My pal and I have plans to add ceiling fans to help push heated air downward in the winter and upward in the summer. My pal and I are also hoping to replace all of the old windows with thermal paned, Energy Star rated options.
