My boyfriend and I live in Michigan about 3 hours away from my parents.
They live on the other side of the border in indiana.
They are in a small town called South bend. My boyfriend and I went to visit my parents in South Bend for a couple of days. We stayed in a hotel, which made my mom and dad very upset. They thought that we were going to stay with them, but I wanted my boyfriend and I to have some privacy after we drove 3 hours. I appreciate it that my mom and dad wanted us to stay with them, but my boyfriend and I were much more comfortable in a South Bend hotel. We did have some problems with the heating system in the hotel. The heater was dusty and dirty. They had to move us to three different rooms before they found us a place that had a working heating system and hot water. Our visit with my mom and dad was really nice and we had a good time. We spent the day on Saturday walking around the university campus and we went to the zoo. When we left on Sunday to head back home, it was very cold and frigid outside. It started to snow when we still had 40 more miles to drive. The snow started to get heavier and heavier the closer we drove north. If we would have waited another hour to leave my mom and dad’s house, we probably would have been stranded on the side of the road in the snow. It was getting heavier and heavier and by the time we got home there was already 8 inches of fresh snow on the ground.
