We had a tornado take down a tree nearby

There are summer storms all of the time in the south. There’s a lot of heat and humidity and the water off the coast is warm. It is the perfect recipe for summer tropical storms and hurricanes. Tropical storms and hurricanes don’t usually hit the Jacksonville area, due to the fact that that jet stream keeps them further off the coast. Places like Tampa or Daytona Beach are usually hit more frequently than Jacksonville. We still get a lot of rain, wind, and tornadoes when there are storms nearby. Last year we had a tornado during a tropical storm that was just off the coast. There were several tornadoes spawned in the area, but one took down a tree near my home. The tree fell into the backyard and crushed the AC condenser outside. The whole machine had to be fixed so I called a Jacksonville AC repair service. The AC repair services were busy, but I managed to get an appointment for the same day. The Jacksonville AC repair service said they could come to have a look but they could not promise that they would be able to fix the problem on the same day. The repairman would likely have to order parts and they would not be able to fix the problem until the next day. I was pretty bummed out when I found out that I was going to have to go without any cold air in the house for at least 24 hours. That prompted me to go to the hardware store to buy a window air conditioner. It was a small price to pay for overnight comfort.
