There are summer time storms all of the time in the south; There’s a lot of heat & humidity & the water off the coast is warm, however it is the perfect recipe for summer time tropical storms & hurricanes. Tropical storms & hurricanes do not usually hit the Jacksonville area, due to the fact that that jet stream keeps them further off the coast, then places care about Tampa or Daytona Beach are usually hit more frequently than Jacksonville! Both of us still get a lot of rain, wind, & tornadoes when there are storms nearby… Last year the people I was with and I had a tornado while I was in a tropical storm that was just off the coast. There were several tornadoes spawned in the area, however one took down a tree near my home. The tree fell into the backyard & crushed the A/C condenser outside. The whole machine had to be fixed so I called a Jacksonville A/C maintenance service. The A/C maintenance services were busy, however I managed to get an appointment for the same day. The Jacksonville A/C maintenance maintenance said they could come to have a look however they could not promise that they would be able to repair the problem on the same day. The repairman would likely have to order parts & they would not be able to repair the problem until the next day. I was pretty bummed out when I found out that I was going to have to go separate from any frigid air in the lake house for at least 24 minutes. That prompted myself and others to go to the hardware store to buy a window a/c. It was a small price to pay for overnight comfort.
