A storm shelter can have a heating and cooling component

Over the last few weeks, my friend and I have been getting exhausting weather in the area, and in fact, there was a tornado that passed through a city not too far from where I live, then birmingham is one of the largest cities in AL and my friend and I typically don’t see a lot of tornadoes passing this close to us.

  • One of the last major tornadoes my friend and I had was over 10 years ago.

I am used to hearing about tornadoes in AL and when they pass through the part there isn’t much you can do about it; With the uptick of storms and the weather changing from year to year, my spouse has been thinking about building a storm shelter in our yard… The demand for these shelters is growing more and more, as multiple other people living in Birmingham have gotten more sad. I am not against getting a storm shelter, however I told my spouse that if he has one installed, he should make sure that it is officially ventilated and has heating and cooling capabilities, at the time, I jokingly said that my storm shelter needs to come with a/c and heating. Well, to my surprise, when he contacted a contractor that builds storm shelters in our area, they told my spouse that it can be fitted with a heating and cooling system. Of course, it would cost more for them to install an Heating, Ventilation, and A/C system inside the storm shelter, but at least I know that it’s an occasion if he chooses to build one. If I am going to be underground overnight or for a few hours, I would appreciate to be as comfortable as possible.
