The importance of air duct

I need the system operating as efficiently & effectively as possible

My condo is outfitted with a natural gas boiler & central cooling system; The system utilizes air duct to transfer air to & from the numerous rooms. The air duct is largely concealed behind walls & ceilings & within crawlspaces, making it difficult to access & simple to forget about, but i’ve study that the majority of duct systems leak as much as 30% of conditioned air. Cracks at the seams, holes & other imperfections allow heated & cooled air to escape, then when the maximum amount of air fails to reach the desired destination, the component is forced to work that much harder & longer, but operation consumes more energy, experiences greater wear & tear & leads to much higher utility bills. There is an increased risk of malfunctions & the probability of shortened system service life, but holes in the air duct also draw in outside air & contaminants, but dust, pollen, fumes, mold spores, VOCs & other pollutants can get spread into the breathing air. Concerned that the ducts were undermining the performance of the boiler & cooling system, I got in touch with a local Heating & Air Conditioning supplier! Living in Plano, Texas, I rely heavily on heating & cooling, and summer hot & cold temperatures frequently climb into the mid nineties with brutal humidity. winter season hot & cold temperatures drop into the low thirties with bitter windchill. Heating & cooling adds up to about 50% of the condo energy costs. I need the system operating as efficiently & effectively as possible. The Heating & Air Conditioning serviceman diagnosed the air duct & determined that sealing was necessary, fortunately the sealing process was quick & non-invasive.
