Glad I bought a heat pump for Alabama

It also is safer and environmentally friendly due to not burning and churning fossil fuels

Since the weather in Tuscaloosa, AL is so mild, I was able to get by with a heat pump system. A heat pump is a two for one HVAC system. You get both heating and cooling functions with one device. The outdoor device is connected via piping and tubing to multiple indoor air handlers throughout the house. Put an air handler with a thermostat in every room of the house and you get zone control. Customized heating and cooling is the way to go. I now don’t have to cool unused rooms in the summer. When I am cooking in the kitchen, I only have to provide AC there in the wintertime. It saves a lot of money and boosts the comfort in the household. A heat pump also eliminates the need for ductwork. With no ductwork you aren’t getting the indoor air quality issues like you are used to. Also the lack of ductwork means less air loss and debris floating in the air. A ductless heat pump should be checked yearly but it often doesn’t need any kind of love. The best part is how the system operates. It moves existing heat energy. It operates like an air conditioner in the summer and in the winter it pumps the outdoor heat inside of the house. This creates cleaner indoor air and is cheaper in operation. It also is safer and environmentally friendly due to not burning and churning fossil fuels. No combustion process or purchasing of fuel necessary. A heat pump is really a nice choice for Alabama homes.
