I am a DJ, so I work from sundown to sunup spinning records and playing music at bars, clubs, and private parties.

Although my life is a lot of fun, understand that it took time, effort, and dedication to get here. I have spent thousands of hours practicing my mixes, and just as long building a reputation in the local music scene. In the city of Denver, Colorado music is a big deal, and there is a ton of competition for this kind of job. In the old days I worked as a budtender in a Denver cannabis dispensary while I honed my craft. About a year ago I started getting enough DJ work that I quit the cannabis dispensary job and became a full-time member of the Denver music community. Oddly enough, that job was one of the main reasons my reputation started to grow in the Denver area. Because there is such fierce competition among cannabis dispensaries in Denver, they are always trying to one-up each other. Several major dispensaries have smokers lounges where they hire local Denver musicians and comedians to perform. I was able to quit my day job because at night I was spinning records in a half dozen different cannabis stores throughout Denver. Without gigs for all those cannabis shops, I might not be as well known in Denver as I am today. I have to remember my roots, and keep playing these small shows around Denver until I can break through and make it to the Big Time.

I used to be a “road DJ.” That’s an industry term for a journeyman who stays on the road most of the time, always playing new towns and different venues.

Being a Road DJ is a great way to establish your reputation and get the highest number of new listeners.

To build a brand, spending months on the road can help a lot. After a few years, being on the road gets tiring, so I picked my favorite musical city and decided to settle down. Philadelphia, PA is a place steeped in history, but also home to amazing music and the best cannabis I’ve ever found. The last time I was in Philadelphia for a show, I discovered a small, out-of-the-way cannabis dispensary that I had only heard rumors about. Most cannabis shops have a wide variety, and try to provide low prices, but this place was the opposite. It was the only shop in Philadelphia that specialized in the vintage strains of cannabis. A vintage or classic strain is a type of cannabis that has been around for decades, like Purple Haze or Acapulco Gold for example. For a few months I had heard of a rare cannabis shop hidden in downtown Philadelphia, but since it has no web presence I never believed it. Now that I have found this cannabis dispensary it will be the only place I shop when I visit Philadelphia, PA. The prices are high and the buds are old and dusty, but holy cow, it is easily the finest weed I’ve ever smoked before.

Now that the weather is getting nicer outside, I was able to give my furnace a break. I live in Buffalo, so I use my furnace quite a lot during the year. In fact, there have been some years that I kept my furnace running for most of the Spring. We have had major snow storms this time of year as well, so it’s not uncommon to use our furnace all the way to the beginning of May. While our Winters can be quite brutal, the good news is our Summers are milder than some of the other cities in the state. So, although we use air conditioning during the warmer months, we are not running our A/C units as much as we run our furnace in the Winter. It costs a lot more to heat homes than it is to keep them cool because of the difference in temperature outside. In contrast, the average temperature in the Summer is around 80 degrees and if I keep my thermostat on 76 then it’s only working very little to maintain a comfortable temperature in my house. This means I save a lot on my energy bill during the Summer months, but that savings is used to offset the high costs that I spend in the Winter to keep my home comfortable.

When my husband and I moved to Hillsboro, OR, I turned to him and told him to forget about walking to work.

Most of the areas where people lived were nowhere near where they worked.

To walk to work would have taken him the entire day, and then he would need to come back home. He laughed and said the only way he could walk to work was if he worked from home. Because of where we lived, he couldn’t even catch a bus. He would need to drive to the bus stop. It was really quite annoying, but we loved Hillsboro, OR. Had we known about the inability to walk to work, or catch a bus to work, when we moved, we may not have moved out of town. We lived in an area where we could walk out the door and go to a restaurant, shop, or find a cozy little coffee shop, within minutes. You may want to move to Hillsboro, OR for the comfortable summers, and lack of snow, but if you want to walk to work, Hillsboro, OR is not the place for you. Last week, I went so far as to ask my husband what we were going to do when we retired. It was years away, but it was still a consideration. He told me we would sell our house, and move into a retirement village. He hoped they would have one that was close to the ocean by then, but you never know. For now, we have mild winters, nice summers, and my husband doesn’t mind driving half an hour to work.

I had read in a brochure about the Dr.

The history of the place was fascinating, and I didn’t even know how close I was to it. I had lived close to Waldorf, MD all my life, and I wanted to find out more about my area. I asked my husband if we could go to the Dr. Samuel Mudd house and museum on the next day he had off work. Unfortunately, it was cold and rainy that day, and he wasn’t in the mood to travel the area, but he agreed to visit the house and museum. I couldn’t believe the history that was in this house. The main house has been in the Mudd family since 1640. His father gave him the property when he married his wife Sarah, whom he called Frank so they could keep her and his sister from being confused at family dinners.Dr. Mudd was the person who left John Wilkes Booth’s leg after he assassinated President Lincoln. He didn’t know who Mr. Booth was, but he set the leg and allowed him to get some sleep in an upstairs bedroom. My husband wasn’t enjoying the tour as much as I was, so he went to the car where he could turn on the HVAC system and get some much needed warmth. I’ll be experiencing more of the history of Waldorf, MD, but probably without my husband, and when the weather is warmer. Doing outside tours in the spring, when the weather is still in the fifties and rainy, isn’t as much as it could be in the summer.

Tampa is a city that is located on the western side of Florida. It has a tropical climate that has hot and wet summers and mild, dry winters. Summers in the city of Tampa are regularly hot and humid. The temperatures are in the 90s most of the time and some days we have temperatures that are in the triple digits. I rarely leave my house during the day, because the weather is so warm and uncomfortable. I do like to leave the house at night. Tampa has some very fun and interesting night time activities. Ybor city is one of my favorite places to go and it is also a popular tourist destination. There are a number of bars, nightclubs, and music venues located all over Ybor city. Downtown Tampa is also nice and it has plenty of fun things to do also. It’s pleasant to go to the river walk after the sun goes down. There are lots of bars, restaurants, and beautiful views of the skyline. My girlfriend and I went to Ybor City on Saturday night and we were there until 2:00 in the morning. We went back to our apartment and Tampa and the house was 90°. The temperature on the thermostat was hard to believe, but it didn’t feel like that air conditioner had been running in a long time. I tried to toggle the switch on the top of the thermostat, but nothing seemed to help. We had to contact an emergency service company in Tampa that has 24-hour AC repair services.

My dad has been living in The Villages, a larger retirement community located in central Florida.

The Villages is a huge community that was planned for senior living.

The Villages has more than 100,000 people and all of those residents are spread out over more than 30,000 acres. I got my dad a condo that is close to a shopping center. There are lots of stores in the shopping center and my dad can drive his golf cart to the store. He really shouldn’t be driving a car anymore but there are plenty of places to drive your golf cart in The Villages. I went to visit my dad a couple of weeks ago and it was a very warm and humid day. My dad had the AC unit off and I asked if there was a problem. My dad told me that the temperatures were comfortable and we didn’t need any ac. I didn’t agree, so I turned on the machine. I could not get the air conditioner to work at all. I asked my dad if he knew there was a problem with the machine and he told me that it had not been working for a couple of weeks. My dad didn’t know who to call in The Villages to fix the AC unit, but I didn’t have any trouble finding a repair service. I found a repair place nearby offering same day service. Even on a Saturday at four in the afternoon, they had a repair technician at my dad’s condo in less than an hour.

Over the last few weeks, we have been getting bad weather in the area.

• In fact, there was a tornado that passed through a town not too far from where I live.

Birmingham is one of the largest cities in Alabama and we typically don’t see a lot of tornadoes passing this close to us. One of the last major tornadoes we had was over 10 years ago. I am used to hearing about tornadoes in Alabama and when they pass through the area there isn’t much you can do about it. With the uptick of storms and the weather changing from year to year, my husband has been thinking about building a storm shelter in our yard. The demand for these shelters is growing more and more, as many other people living in Birmingham have gotten more concerned. I am not against getting a storm shelter, but I told my husband that if he has one installed, he should make sure that it is properly ventilated and has heating and cooling capabilities. At the time, I jokingly said that my storm shelter needs to come with air conditioning and heating. Well, to my surprise, when he contacted a company that builds storm shelters in our area, they told my husband that it can be fitted with a heating and cooling system. Of course, it would cost more for them to install an HVAC system inside the storm shelter, but at least I know that it’s an option if he chooses to build one. If I am going to be underground overnight or for a few hours, I would prefer to be as comfortable as possible.
